This one comes from the Hyalite school library (not the PAC): Mrs. Gilpin’s Pumpkin Book Character Contest is happening now!
Bring your pumpkin to the library on Monday, October 26. Judging is October 28, and winners are announced Friday, October 30.
Prize: winners in each category get to pick a FREE new book to keep!
Guidelines:
- NO REAL PUMPKINS (bugs, critters, pumpkin explosions, and ruined books!). Use a fake pumpkin or a tissue box. Ask Mrs. Gilpin if you need a tissue box.
- It must have a book or book-character theme (no movies or TV), and the book needs to be on display with the pumpkin.
- Any size, as long as your student can carry it. Paint it, glue or attach things to it — get creative!
- Tape or write the student’s and teacher’s names on the bottom (judging is anonymous).
- Pumpkins need to go home by Friday, October 30; any left after that will be discarded. Real pumpkins won’t be entered or displayed.
