We are thrilled to announce an exciting new collaboration at Hyalite Elementary! This spring, Hyalite PAC presents a Bozeman Children’s Theatre Production: Jungle Book Kids. We are so excited to bring this adventure to life with our talented students and to partner with Bozeman Children’s Theatre to create a fun, educational, and memorable experience for everyone involved.

If your child would like to participate, please fill out the form here.

What to Expect from Jungle Book Kids

Jungle Book Kids is a fully staged theatre production featuring students from Hyalite Elementary. The program offers more than just a chance to perform; it builds confidence, teamwork, and stage experience. Students rehearse after school with experienced theatre instructors who guide them through the process of bringing this classic story to life.

The production is designed to be inclusive. While 4th and 5th graders can audition for lead roles, younger students and those who prefer not to audition will join the choir. No previous theatre experience is needed—just enthusiasm and a willingness to participate.

Important Dates and Audition Details

Parents and students should mark their calendars for these key dates:

  • April 8: Sign-ups open for all students interested in participating. Registration is required to receive audition information. Sign up here!

  • April 24: Sign-ups close.

  • April 25, 9 a.m. to Noon: Auditions for 4th and 5th graders who want to try out for lead roles.

Auditions are open only to 4th and 5th graders aiming for lead parts. Students who do not audition or do not get a lead role will be placed in the choir, ensuring everyone has a role in the production.

Rehearsal Schedule and Locations

Rehearsals take place in the Hyalite Elementary gym and lunchroom, organized by grade groups to accommodate different schedules:

  • 4th & 5th Grades: May 4, 5, 6, 7, 11, 18, 20 from 3:15 to 5:00 p.m.

  • Kindergarten & 2nd Grade: May 12, 14, 19 from 3:15 to 4:30 p.m.

  • 1st & 3rd Grades: May 13 from 3:15 to 5:00 p.m. and May 21 from 3:15 to 4:30 p.m.

The dress rehearsals will be held at Bozeman High School, located at 205 N 11th Ave, Bozeman, MT 59715. These rehearsals are scheduled for May 26, 27, and 28 from 4:30 to 7:00 p.m. Younger students will be released earlier during these sessions.

Volunteer Opportunities for Families

The production relies on community support. Volunteers will be needed starting with the dress rehearsals and continuing through the performances. Families interested in helping will receive a sign-up invitation in early May. Volunteering offers a great way to be part of the excitement and support the students’ creative journey.

Why Participate in Jungle Book Kids?

This production is a chance for students to develop skills that go beyond the stage. They learn how to work as a team, follow directions, and express themselves creatively. The experience builds self-confidence and helps children discover new talents in a supportive environment.

Parents can expect their children to come home energized and proud of their accomplishments. The program also strengthens community ties by bringing families and neighbors together to celebrate young talent.
