Senior Services, we are suspending all Senior Reach behavioral health home visits. Homemaker services are being assessed on a case by case basis. For all at risk seniors, we will maintain contact by phone to ensure their essential needs are being addressed. Senior Centers across our communities are closing, including in Bozeman, Manhattan, Three Forks, Park, and more. Though communal meals will not be provided, individuals will have the option to pick up food to go. Meals on Wheels will continue, but all volunteers will wear gloves and will drop off meals at the door.
Our energy programs have been directed to cease all Weatherization work through March 27. Our LIEAP and Energy Share programs will be operating via customer drop off and processing. NorthWestern Energy is suspending service disconnections during the COVID-19 outbreak. You can read more here. Montana-Dakota Utilities Co. is also implementing a moratorium on service disconnections for non-payments related to hardships incurred from COVID-19.
Salvation Army in Bozeman:
We have expanded our sack lunch program. Sack lunches are available M-F 9 am to 12 pm and 1 to 3 to help families. Firehouse subs has graciously donated 40 subs a day for the next two weeks. We have hygiene and cleaning supplies, some baby supplies, smaller size diapers.
We will be implementing an emergency feeding program tomorrow after Rick meets with COAD. This will include delivering meals to at risk people.
Our building is available for use by government, medical, and other entities working to slow the spread. If you all have a need please let us know.
We have some grocery vouchers available and are looking for more sponsors to help supplemental food beyond what the Food Bank supplies.
If you or someone you know feels comfortable giving time, opportunities are available on the Galaxy volunteer job site. We ask that all are healthy, have not knowingly come into contact with COVID-19, and that they or a loved one are not at higher-risk.
